Crowned figure seated facing with legs crossed, holding a crescent; to right and left, ‘ḍuriba bi al-Mawṣil / sana – sabʿ / wa ʿishrīn wa sitta miʾa’ (‘Struck in al-Mawsil in the year 627’ in Arabic). Rev. Citing the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Mustansir billah (AH 623-640 / AD 1226-1242), ‘al-Imām / lā ilāha illā Allāh / Muḥammad rasūl Allāh / al-Mustanṣir billāh / amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Imam al-Mustansir billah, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); citing the Ayyubid overlords al-Kamil Muhammad (AH 615-635 / AD 1218-1238) and al-Ashraf Musa (reign in Damascus: AH 626-635 / AD 1229-1237) after his own name in the margin, ‘Nāṣir al-Dunyā wa al-Dīn Atābak Maḥmūd al-malik al-Kāmil al-malik al-Ashraf’ (‘Nasir al-Dunya wa al-Din Atabek Mahmud.
